Magazine Redesign Class Project
Rolling Stones Magazine Redesign:
I was tasked to make my own rendition of this iconic music magazine. Tame Impala's music has taken the world by storm so I've decided to base the cover and article on him. I changed the Rolling Stone logo to a more modernized, simplified, bold logotype. The article page is also typographically focused. I wanted the words to look like what they were saying. "The Cosmin Healing of" feels lighter with the color choice and the star motif gives the cosmic visual to the type. To reflect Tame Impala becoming a big name in the industry his name is visually taking up most of the space on the page.
Artist Book Design Class Project
Jean-Michel Basquiat Art Book Design
My favorite artist has to be hands down Jean-Michel Basquiat. His work dark but colorful and so full of expression. With his work in mind, I wanted the book cover to represent his style as an artist. I had an idea of using different fonts to form his last name in a fun and jumbled manner. I made most of the letters touch each other to create movement but still look intentional. I also included examples of his work into some of the spaces of the letters to add color to a mostly black and white cover.
