Concert Poster Designs
Personal Project: The Eyesores Concert Poster:
I made up a band to practice the art of concert poster making. A common motif in my work has been the eyes. I wanted to use that heavily in this design by reinterpreting the imagery of a biblically accurate angel. A concert poster that is posted out in the streets has to be visually eye-catching and impactful towards to the audience the band wants to advertise to. This duo poster design would be sure to catch the attention of any rock music lover.
Personal Project: Modest Mouse Concert Poster and Animation:
My favorite band growing up has been the band Modest Mouse! Some of my favorite art and graphic design to see out in the real world is concert posters. I sketched the concept and illustrated it completely in Adobe Illustrator. The imagery of the woman's face splitting in half and revealing a mouse skull was inspired by Modest Mouse's album "Strangers to Ourselves".
Commissioned Work
Birthday Guardians of the Galaxy Poster:
This client loves the movie franchise of Guardians of the Galaxy. For his birthday he wanted to be a part of the superhero team! The movie takes heavy influence from 80's music and space imagery. This poster takes direct influence from those motifs. I also used aspects of the graphic design trends that I love such as texture, halftones and bold type.
Class Projects
School Project: Salt Movie Promotional Posters
I was tasked to create a pair of promotional posters for a movie that was randomly assigned to each student. I was assigned the movie Salt starring Angelina Jolie. I was responsible for finding my own high quality assets and composite them in a convincing manner with the use of Photoshop.
School Project: Social Impact Poster Project:
This project was about creating a typographically focused poster with a message. It was important to make sure the design was legible and visually impactful. I chose the quote "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" by Martin Luther King Jr. due to its recognizability and its influence on social change.
